Amazing excursions on our Nile river cruise

See Egypt as the Gods intended, from its lifeblood that is the Nile. Our 7 night Nile river cruise takes you on a journey you will never forget, at a pace that allows you to admire the breath-taking scenery without missing a beat. Many of our excursions are included in the cost of your trip, so you can relax in the knowledge your once-in-a-lifetime experience is in good hands.

Valley of the Kings

Standing on the west bank of the Nile gazing across to Luxor, we visit the historic site that is the Valley of the Kings. This ancient burial ground of the famous Kings of Egypt such as Tutankhamun and Ramesses II is a sight to behold. Step into the grandeur of ancient Egypt as you step inside the elaborately decorated tombs to witness the ornate adornments within. To see more of the Kings’ treasures, such as Tutankhamun’s iconic death mask, add a trip to Cairo to your personalised itinerary, and visit the Egyptian Museum.

Colossi of Memnon

The iconic Colossi of Memnon are not to be missed. These enormous stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III sitting stoically on the plain, gazing eastward towards the Nile, are so imposing you could believe they still ruled Egypt. Designed to stand guard at the entrance to Amenhotep III’s memorial temple, they certainly make a fearsome pair. This is an excellent photo opportunity as these gigantic, brooding statues have to be seen to be believed.

Luxor Temple

Your Nile cruise continues to Luxor where we visit the imposing temple, built as a monument to the rejuvenation of kingship and believed to be where many of the kings of Egypt were crowned. Be prepared to be in awe of this architectural gem, complete with well-preserved statues and ancient hieroglyphs. A relatively simple construction in comparison with its sister Karnak temple, which we also visit on our river cruise, Luxor temple has the feeling of an intimate sanctuary of calm.
