Swiss Inn Resort Hurghada is one of the best-connected beachfront resorts on the Red Sea: a 5 star all inclusive with around 220 metres of private sand on one side and Hurghada’s El Mamsha promenade, with its shops, cafes and evening buzz, quite literally at the gate.
For many years this was the Hilton Hurghada Resort, and it shows in the bones of the place: a proper full-service beach resort with around 400 rooms and suites, eleven restaurants and bars, three pools and its own long-established dive centre. Since early 2021 it has been run by Swiss Inn Hotels and Resorts, and the front-line rooms and suites have been renovated with contemporary furnishings and walk-in showers.
The location is the real trump card. Most Hurghada resorts make you choose between a good beach and being near the action. Here you get both: the resort’s gardens and private sand face the Red Sea, while the El Mamsha promenade runs past the entrance, so you can stroll out to shops, cafes and restaurants in the evening without booking a taxi. Hurghada airport is only about ten minutes away by road, which means you can be on a sunbed within the hour of landing.
In our view this is a resort for people who want a lively, sociable all inclusive with plenty going on, rather than a remote hideaway. Couples do well in the renovated Premium Sea View rooms, families have genuine two-bedroom suites to spread out in, and divers and snorkellers have the on-site Divers Lodge centre, running since 1993. All eight published categories come with a private balcony or terrace, air conditioning, satellite TV, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities, a safe and free WiFi, and the front-line categories have been renovated in a fresh, contemporary style.

Three pools give the resort its daytime rhythm. The main outdoor pool is the centrepiece, a big, sociable sweep of water in the gardens between the buildings and the beach, ringed with free sunbeds and served by its own swim-up bar, so a cold drink never involves drying off. A second, smaller pool offers shallower, calmer water, and the health club adds an indoor pool for length swimming whatever the weather.
Hurghada is a genuine year-round destination, with winter days in the low twenties, and the resort backs that up properly: the main outdoor pool and the indoor health club pool are both heated through the winter months. In our experience that matters more than brochure photographs suggest, because plenty of Red Sea resorts leave their pools unheated from November to March.
Towels are provided free at the pools as well as on the beach, and the gardens around the pool terraces hold quieter pockets of sunbeds if you prefer your sunbathing with a book rather than a soundtrack. For complete peace, the sand towards the ends of the private beach is usually the calmest spot in the resort.
The private beach is the reason to choose a front-line resort in Hurghada, and this one delivers: around 220 metres of sand facing the open Red Sea, with free sunbeds, parasols and beach towels for guests. The entry into the water is sandy and gentle, and the bay in front of the resort stays calm enough for a proper swim on most days. Waves serves the sand directly, so lunch, snacks and cold drinks never interrupt a beach day, and the Marina Beach Bar sits by the resort’s small marina at one end.
Divers Lodge, the on-site dive centre, has been operating here since 1993 and runs a full programme of courses, daily boat diving and snorkelling trips, with a sheltered bay used for confined training. Hurghada’s best snorkelling and diving is reached by boat, and day trips head out to the reefs around Giftun Island and the nearby marine park sites; we can arrange these for you, or you can book directly with the centre.
A watersports centre on the beach covers the usual Red Sea menu, and the resort’s position on the open coast gives it dependable breezes without the beach ever feeling wind-blasted.
The health club is where the resort earns its keep on the days you want to slow down. Inside you will find a sauna, a steam room and a hot tub arranged around the indoor pool, which is heated in winter, plus a menu of massages and treatments at an additional charge. It is not a vast destination spa, but as a place to thaw out after a winter dive or unwind after a day in the sun it does the job well, and our customers tell us the massage therapists are a highlight.
The gym is free to use from morning until early evening, and the sports facilities go well beyond the usual token offering: floodlit tennis, squash courts, paddle tennis and table tennis are all on site, and Champs’ Sports Bar keeps a full-size billiards table for the competitive. Water aerobics and dance classes run through the day if you like your exercise sociable.
