Concorde El Salam Sharm El Sheikh is one of the resort’s true giants, a five star all inclusive of around 725 rooms on White Knight Bay, with terraced gardens stepping down to a private beach, a floating jetty over a superb house reef, and in our view the most complete sports offering of any hotel in Sharm.
The hotel opened in 2001 and has grown ever since, and today it runs as two connected wings sold under one name, now flying the Royal Tulip flag. The Front wing sits directly on the beach, wrapped around a vast lagoon style infinity pool that looks straight out over the Gulf of Aqaba towards Tiran Island. The Sport wing lies about 450 metres inland across the road, and it is the playground of the two: a full sports centre, stables with two equestrian tracks, and even the first ice skating rink built in Sharm el Sheikh. A free shuttle links the wings every ten minutes or so, and the walk between them takes under ten minutes.
This is a big, sociable, self contained resort rather than a boutique bolthole, and it is priced accordingly, which is exactly why our customers love it. The Front wing feels the fresher of the two, so that is where we place most UK guests, while the Sport wing suits anyone who wants the pool and sports centre on the doorstep. Food is honest and plentiful across four restaurants, the house reef is genuinely one of the better ones on this coast, and the location is hard to beat: about ten minutes from the airport and a short stroll from the bars, shops and dancing fountain of SOHO Square. Accommodation at Concorde El Salam Sharm El Sheikh runs to around 725 rooms and suites across 14 published categories, spread through low rise buildings in both wings. The look is classic Egyptian resort rather than cutting edge: pale wood furniture, patterned fabrics, tiled floors and marble clad bathrooms, with air conditioning, a 32 inch flat screen TV, minibar fridge, kettle and safe as standard. Nearly every room has a furnished balcony or terrace facing the gardens, pools or sea. Front wing rooms are the more recently refreshed and the ones we recommend first; Sport wing rooms are simpler and set back from the beach, but they suit anyone chasing a keener price.
The core of the Front wing at around 32 m², sleeping two to three with a double or twin beds, a seating area and a balcony or terrace. Garden View rooms overlook the tropical planting and lakes, Sea View rooms look over the bay, and Beach Front Sea View rooms put you closest to the sand. Cots are available on request.
Noticeably more space at around 45 m², with king size or twin bedding, a proper sitting area and the same balcony or terrace. The Deluxe Sea View is the one to aim for: the panorama over the Red Sea from the upper floors is worth every penny in our view.
Set around the Sport wing pool and gardens, these doubles, twins and triples come with a balcony or patio, satellite TV and minibar. Decor is a touch more dated than the Front wing, which the price reflects, and you are two minutes from the pool and sports centre.
The hotel lists 32 family suites, and the Two Bedroom Suites sleep up to four adults and two children with a spacious living and dining room and a kitchenette, arranged around one of the pools. Two adjacent Standard rooms can also be booked side by side, a simple and cost effective set up we arrange often.
Three top of the range suites with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, generous reception rooms, full kitchens and large terraces with pool views; the three bedroom version has its own private entrance and the top floor suite adds a sweeping terrace. Ideal for multi generation groups who want everyone under one roof.
Four restaurants and a good spread of bars keep an all inclusive week interesting, which is not a given at this price point in Sharm. The buffets change daily and the standard is consistently decent, with theme nights and barbecue evenings breaking up the week. Evenings are smart casual; for the a la carte tables we suggest booking with guest relations on your first day.

All inclusive at Concorde El Salam Sharm El Sheikh is built around the buffet restaurants, with live cooking stations at every service and local drinks flowing until midnight. It is a straightforward, generous programme rather than a fussy one, and both wings and their venues are open to all guests, so you can eat by the beach one night and by the waterfalls the next.
Swimming is where this resort shows off. We count four main outdoor pools across the two wings, three of them heated through the winter months, which makes Concorde El Salam a genuinely year round choice; guests report lovely warm water even in January. Add the aqua gym sessions and the Sport wing pool and there is a pool for every mood and every age.
The centrepiece is the huge lagoon style infinity pool at the Front wing, curving through the gardens with a swim up bar and an edge that appears to spill straight into the Red Sea. In our view it is one of the most impressive pool settings in Sharm el Sheikh. Depths are mostly around waist to chest height, and further pools are tucked into quieter garden corners for those who want a lounger away from the action.
Across the road, the Sport wing has its own generous pool beside the sports centre, a sunny, sociable spot where the aqua gym sessions run during the day. The every ten minutes shuttle means Front wing guests can be poolside there in moments.
The private beach sits on White Knight Bay, a sheltered curve of sand and shingle on the Ras Nasrani coast with padded loungers, parasols and Vendom Bar behind you for refreshments. It is a well kept rather than an enormous beach, and it can get sociable in peak season, but what lies just offshore is the real prize.
A floating jetty walks you straight out over the coral to deeper water, so you drop in among the fish without ever standing on the reef. The White Knight house reef is rated among the better reefs on this stretch of coast, with dense coral gardens, clouds of anthias and regular turtle and ray sightings, and it suits everyone from first time snorkellers to experienced divers. The water is deep at the jetty entry point, so confident swimming is needed there; less confident swimmers are better in the shallows and pools.
Marina Divers operates its dive centre right on the hotel beach, running house reef dives, try dives and courses, plus speedboat and full day boat trips that leave directly from the Concorde jetty for the Strait of Tiran and Ras Mohammed National Park, two of the Red Sea’s most celebrated dive areas. Non motorised water sports and boat excursions can also be arranged on the beach.
No other hotel we sell in Sharm comes close to this sports offering. The Sport wing is built around a full sports centre that has hosted equestrian championships and other events, and it turns the resort into a brilliant choice for active guests who get restless on a sunbed.
Some activities, including tennis, squash, riding and skating, carry a charge, and the tour desk can arrange quad biking, stargazing and desert safaris beyond the gates.
Two health clubs and two beauty centres are spread across the resort, so a workout or a blow dry never involves a trek. The spa proper offers an indoor pool, a traditional hammam and Turkish bath, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, with a menu of face and body treatments and massages, including a private spa suite for couples. Our customers consistently praise the masseurs here, and prices are gentle by UK standards.
