For the best part of two decades this estate was the Maritim Jolie Ville Golf and Resort, the address that gave Sharm el Sheikh its one and only 18 hole championship golf course. In 2025 the Pickalbatros group took over, refreshed the place and relaunched it as an all inclusive resort. The bones that made it special have not changed: low rise buildings threaded through lawns and palms, a sandy private beach and clear water views across to Tiran Island.
What has changed is the energy. The two big swimming pools are now the heart of a livelier scene, with loungers spread across the lawns around them. Six named restaurants and seven bars keep the all inclusive side interesting, and a full daily activity programme fills the gaps between swims.
In our view it suits three kinds of guest almost perfectly: those who want space to roam, golfers who want to walk to the first tee, and mixed generation groups who need everyone catered for at once. It is a large resort, so allow for a few minutes on foot or a shuttle hop between your room, the beach and dinner. Accommodation here is about ground and garden rather than tower blocks. The 418 rooms sit in low rise wings and bungalows around the lawns and pools, almost all with a furnished balcony or terrace, and the standard touches are genuinely five star: premium bedding, a pillow menu and 24 hour room service across the board. Entry level rooms are unusually large for Sharm at around 50 m², which makes a real difference over a week. Connecting rooms can be requested, and at the very top of the tree sits a five bedroom villa for larger group gatherings. Categories below are as published by the hotel; sizes are approximate.

Six named restaurants cover a lot of culinary ground for one resort, and because the estate is so large they feel like separate nights out rather than doors off one corridor. Les Palmiers does the heavy lifting at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and all inclusive includes a la carte dining at the speciality tables, reserved in advance, though the exact allowance varies by season, so plan your evenings out early.
The engine room: an extensive buffet of international and Egyptian dishes with live cooking stations, and enough rotation across a week that fussy eaters and adventurous ones both leave happy.

Japanese cooking from delicate tempura through to theatrical teppanyaki. Bonsai sits outside the all inclusive and is bookable against a charge, and the teppanyaki grill is the one guests talk about afterwards.
Slow cooked oriental dishes, rich spicing and the namesake tagines. The most atmospheric room of the set for a grown up dinner, and it counts towards the a la carte allowance too.
Expect dress to lean smart casual in the a la carte venues after dark; by day, anything goes. Reservations for the speciality restaurants are made in resort, they are subject to availability, and the popular ones fill first in school holidays.
The resort is sold as all inclusive as standard, and the package is generous where it matters. Buffets with live cooking stations anchor the day at Les Palmiers, the a la carte restaurants provide the evenings out, with at least one included dinner per stay and an allowance that varies by season, and seven bars keep glasses filled from the lobby to the sand.
A la carte tables work on advance reservation and are subject to availability, so book your evenings early in the week rather than leaving them to chance. Allowances are set by the hotel and can flex by season, which is why we confirm the current dining programme in writing with every quote.
The private beach sits on Um Marikha Bay, a sandy stretch of Red Sea shoreline looking out towards Tiran Island. It is sand rather than rock underfoot, which makes for comfortable barefoot swimming and easy entries into the water, and loungers and shade line the shore with the Beach Bar and Dolphin Bar close enough that nobody has to volunteer for a long drinks run.
Because the estate is built around the golf course and gardens, the sand is a short hop from most rooms rather than outside your door; a shuttle trundles the grounds so the distance never becomes a chore, and plenty of guests treat the walk as their exercise for the day. In our view the pay off is worth it: the bay feels calm and uncrowded compared with the busier hotel strips, and the view across the strait is one of the best in this corner of Sharm.
Snorkellers should set expectations correctly: this is a gentle, sandy bay rather than a house reef dropping off the beach. The world class coral is a boat ride away, and that is genuinely the better way to see it. Day trips to the Tiran strait and Ras Mohammed National Park run regularly from Sharm, diving and snorkelling excursions are easy to arrange, and we can pre book either with your holiday so the best boats are not sold out when you land.
Golf is the reason this resort exists. The championship course alongside the hotel opened in the late 1990s to a design by Sanford Golf Design of Florida, and it remains the only 18 hole championship layout in Sharm el Sheikh: a par 72 of just over 6,000 metres, laid with Bermuda grass and threaded around 18 man made lakes that pull in a surprising amount of birdlife. The backdrop is pure Sinai, bare mountains on one side and the Red Sea on the other.
Its pedigree is real rather than brochure talk. The course hosted the European Challenge Tour in 2004 and the European Seniors Tour in 2005, and collected awards as the best golf resort in the Middle East and Africa in the years that followed. Since taking over in 2025, Pickalbatros has been reinvesting to bring conditioning back towards its tournament era standard.
Practically: green fees, buggies and equipment hire are payable separately from your all inclusive package, and tee times can be arranged through the resort. Winter and spring are prime months to play, with warm sunshine and none of the summer heat. Off the fairways, the wellness offer runs to a spa with a hammam and Turkish steam bath, a jacuzzi and treatment rooms for massages, all bookable in resort. A gym covers the machines and weights basics, aerobics sessions run through the week, and four tennis courts take care of anyone who packed a racquet. Between golf, tennis and the pools, this is one of the easier Sharm resorts in which to stay active without leaving the grounds.
