Naama Bay has two personalities. The centre is all promenade, shisha smoke and evening bustle; the far southern corner, where this hotel sits, is gardens, birdsong and the slap of water on a jetty. Stella Di Mare gives you both, because the promenade is a 20 to 25 minute stroll away (or a few minutes by taxi) while the resort itself stays genuinely peaceful.
The hotel is part of the Egyptian Stella Di Mare collection and it feels looked after in a way that chain resorts sometimes do not. Whitewashed buildings terrace down the hillside, so a striking number of rooms look straight over the bay towards Tiran Island, and the landscaping between the levels is some of the best we know in Sharm. At the bottom, sandy sunbathing terraces meet the Red Sea, with a house reef a short swim out.
Who is it for? Honestly, two camps at once. Couples come for the Panoramic Deluxe rooms, the 600 m² spa and dinner at La Scogliera with Tiran on the horizon. Others come for the sheltered swimming and the heated winter pools. What you will not find is a waterslide in sight, and in our view that is precisely the point. Accommodation at Stella Di Mare Beach Hotel & Spa spreads across eight categories, from snug garden villas to a two-bedroom Royal Suite, and because the buildings step down the hillside a large share of rooms carry proper sea views rather than the sideways glimpse you get at flatter resorts. Every room has a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, an LED TV, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, bathrobes and slippers, and Wi-Fi is free throughout. Decor is contemporary and light rather than flashy, with king or twin bedding in most categories. It is worth choosing your category carefully here, because the difference between a garden-facing Comfort Room and a beachfront Super Deluxe is the difference between a good holiday and a great one.
Set in the gardens away from the main building, these are the cosiest rooms on the resort and suit couples who want quiet and a terrace at ground level. King or twin beds, garden views, and the pools and beach a short wander away. There are 49 of them.

Dining is one of the reasons this hotel keeps its loyal repeat guests. We sell Stella Di Mare Sharm El Sheikh on a choice of board bases, but the majority of our customers take the all inclusive and we think it is the right call: the food here is a cut above the Sharm norm and the bars are spread usefully between lobby, pool and beach. The a la carte restaurants, Corallo Rosso and La Scogliera, give the week a proper change of scene, and tables must be reserved through guest services a day or so ahead. All inclusive guests typically dine from a set menu, with dishes from the full a la carte list payable at a discount, but the programme flexes by season, so we confirm the exact dining package with your quote.
Swimming pools are where the garden landscaping pays off. Two lagoon-style pools curve between palms and sun terraces on the lower levels, with plenty of loungers and towel service, and a swim up bar counter serving the main pool. One pool sits in the livelier heart of the resort near Corallo Rosso and the Chill Out Bar, the other offers a calmer corner, so guests tend to find their own territory without ever discussing it.
Crucially for winter sun, the pools at Stella Di Mare Sharm El Sheikh are heated from November to March, and guests regularly report water at a very comfortable temperature even in January, which is not something every Naama Bay hotel can say. An outdoor jacuzzi adds a warmer soak still, and the spa keeps its indoor jacuzzi for genuinely cool days.
There are no waterslides here, and we would rather tell you that plainly. The pools are designed for actual swimming and reading in peace. If slides are non-negotiable for your crew, ask us about the livelier resorts in our Sharm collection instead.
The spa is in the hotel’s name for a reason. Spread over 600 m², it is one of the more complete wellness set-ups in Naama Bay: a traditional Turkish hammam, steam rooms, mixed and separate saunas, hydrotherapy, emotional shower experiences and both indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, alongside treatment rooms offering massages, facials and body rituals. It opens from 10am to 8pm daily, and the first two hours are reserved for ladies only, a thoughtful touch our female guests appreciate. Book treatments a day or two ahead in winter; the post-Christmas weeks are its busiest.
A fully equipped gym runs from 8am to 7pm with fitness classes and yoga sessions on the programme. More unusually for Sharm, the resort has its own nine hole executive golf course with Red Sea views and tuition available from a resident PGA professional, a genuine rarity this close to Naama Bay. Add a tennis court, table tennis, beach volleyball on the sand, a games room with billiards and a quiet library, and there is enough here to fill the gaps between beach days without ever feeling like a holiday camp.
