Set within mature, beautifully landscaped gardens directly on the shore of Egypt’s Red Sea, the Amarina Jannah Resort & Aqua Park is a five-star All Inclusive resort in the Port Ghalib area of Marsa Alam. Its position is hard to better: the resort sits just a couple of kilometres from Marsa Alam International Airport, so the journey from runway to sun lounger is wonderfully short, leaving more time to unwind beside the warm, clear waters of the Red Sea.
The resort is built for relaxation. Days drift easily between the gardens, the generous pools and a long private beach, where a jetty reaches out over a living coral reef. For those seeking a quieter rhythm, there are calm adults-only zones, including a dedicated pool and a selection of secluded bars, while the on-site spa offers a tranquil space to slow down completely.
With its All Inclusive board basis, a choice of restaurants and bars, and a sheltered setting on one of the Red Sea’s most rewarding stretches of coast, the Amarina Jannah makes an easy and serene base for a sun, sea and snorkelling holiday in southern Egypt.
The resort offers a wide range of accommodation, all air-conditioned and finished to a comfortable five-star standard, with a balcony or terrace, satellite television, a safe, tea and coffee making facilities and a private bathroom.
Superior and Deluxe Rooms form the heart of the resort. Superior Rooms come with a king-size or twin beds and a seating area, set against pool, garden, aqua or partial sea views, while Deluxe Rooms enjoy a full sea view. Both measure around 35 square metres.
Swim-up rooms and suites open directly onto a shared swim-up pool from the terrace. The Deluxe Swim-Up Room and the larger Junior Swim-Up Suite, the latter with a separate shower and bathtub, are reserved for adults aged sixteen and over, making them an ideal choice for a couples’ stay.
Suites and signature accommodation step up the space and comfort. Jacuzzi Suites add a private jacuzzi and a sea or partial sea view; Executive Suites pair a bedroom with a separate living room; and the Presidential Suite and Royal Villa offer multiple bedrooms, a living area and access to a private pool. A small number of adapted rooms for guests with reduced mobility is also available.
The resort is set around several outdoor swimming pools, including a large main pool with a separate infinity section, a relaxed adults-only pool and a free-form pool, all of which are heated during the winter months. Plentiful sun loungers are spread between the pools, the gardens and the shore.
The private beach stretches for around 230 metres and is reached easily from the gardens, with a jetty leading out over the water to give direct access to the coral reef just offshore. There is also an on-site aqua park with water slides set in its own landscaped area.
Spa and wellness. The spa is a calm retreat for adults, with a sauna, jacuzzi, Turkish bath and treatment rooms; massages and treatments are available at a charge. A well-equipped gym is complimentary, and a beauty salon offers manicures, pedicures, facials and hair styling. Gentle wellness activities such as yoga and sunset meditation feature in the daily programme.
Diving and watersports. An international diving centre operates from the resort, and snorkelling over the house reef is a highlight, with the marine life of the Red Sea visible straight from the jetty. A range of watersports and excursions is available locally at an extra charge, including diving courses, boat and glass-bottom trips, parasailing and towed inflatables. A complimentary introductory pool dive lets first-timers try scuba in a safe setting before heading out to the reef.
The Amarina Jannah Resort & Aqua Park lies on the KM 65 Quseir to Marsa Alam road in the Port Ghalib area, on the Red Sea coast of southern Egypt. It is exceptionally convenient for arrivals, sitting only around two kilometres from Marsa Alam International Airport (RMF), roughly a ten-minute transfer, so there is very little travelling once you land. The lively marina, shops and waterfront restaurants of Port Ghalib are close by.
This stretch of coast is one of the Red Sea’s finest for diving and snorkelling. The resort’s own house reef can be explored directly from the beach jetty, while a short boat trip reaches the celebrated Elphinstone Reef, a dramatic offshore pinnacle known for its corals and big-fish encounters and suited to experienced divers. To the north, the seagrass bay of Abu Dabbab is renowned for its green turtles and the occasional dugong, and to the south the protected lagoon of Samadai, often called Dolphin House, is home to a resident pod of spinner dolphins.
Pair it with a Nile cruise. A Red Sea stay at the Amarina Jannah sits beautifully alongside a few nights cruising the Nile aboard one of Classic Holidays’ own ships, combining beach and reef with the temples of Luxor and Aswan. Sail with us on the MS Royal Princess or the Classic Blue Shadow IV.
Dining centres on a main buffet restaurant serving international cuisine across breakfast, lunch and dinner as part of the All Inclusive board basis, with show-cooking stations and a midnight snack service.
A choice of a la carte restaurants is available alongside the buffet for those who fancy a change of scene. These include Italian, Egyptian, Indian and Mongolian grill venues, while a dedicated seafood restaurant is available at a supplement. A la carte dining is by reservation and the seafood venue carries a charge, so it is worth booking ahead at the guest relations desk.
Across the resort you will find a generous spread of bars, from a lobby bar and several pool and beach bars to a sports bar and a pub with resident entertainment. Soft drinks and a range of local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served within the All Inclusive hours; freshly squeezed juices, premium and imported drinks, Turkish coffee and shisha are available at an extra charge. Several bars, including an adults-only pool bar and the pub, are reserved for guests aged sixteen and over for a calmer atmosphere.
