Jaz Elite Maraya

Jaz Elite Maraya offers around 202 bright, contemporary rooms and suites, set across low-rise buildings amid the gardens. Interiors are spacious and uncluttered, with air conditioning, a flat-screen television with satellite channels, a tea and coffee tray, a safe, a wardrobe and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and hairdryer. Most rooms open onto a balcony or terrace, with garden, pool or sea views depending on the category.

The principal room and suite categories include:

• Superior rooms (around 42 square metres), comfortable contemporary rooms with garden or pool outlooks.
• Deluxe rooms (around 52 square metres), more generous in size, many with sea views.
• Larger rooms of approximately 52 to 63 square metres for those wanting extra space.
• Junior suites with a private swim-up pool (around 86 square metres), the most spacious option, offering direct access to a shared swim-up pool from the terrace.

The resort is built around its outdoor swimming pools, set among landscaped gardens, with one pool reserved as a quieter adults pool for a more peaceful swim. The main pools are heated during the cooler winter months (typically November to April), so swimming is comfortable for much of the year.

A gently shelving private beach fronts the sheltered waters of Coraya Bay, with sun loungers, parasols and easy access to the bay for swimming and snorkelling.

Wellness and leisure facilities include:

• Mividaspa, the resort’s spa and wellness centre, offering massages and treatments, with a health club and a beauty salon (treatments are bookable locally and charged separately, not part of the board basis).
• A daytime and evening entertainment and activities programme.
• Sports and leisure options such as tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball and fitness facilities.

Diving and watersports are run from the on-site PADI dive centre, Coraya Divers, which offers courses, guided dives and snorkelling trips. Diving, courses and any motorised watersports are available locally and charged separately, rather than included in the All Inclusive board.

Jaz Elite Maraya sits within Madinat Coraya, off the Al Quseir to Marsa Alam coast road, on the protected shores of Coraya Bay. It is one of the most convenient resorts in the region for arrivals: Marsa Alam International Airport (RMF) is only a few kilometres away, a short transfer of roughly ten to fifteen minutes. The lively marina district of Port Ghalib, with its waterfront restaurants and shops, is a short drive to the north.

This coast is one of the great underwater destinations of the Red Sea. The bay’s own house reef offers superb snorkelling and shore diving straight from the beach, with hard and soft corals and clouds of reef fish. Within easy reach are some of Egypt’s most celebrated sites:

• Elphinstone Reef, a dramatic offshore reef famous for steep walls and pelagic life, reached by boat.
• Abu Dabbab, a sheltered seagrass bay around 30 kilometres away known for green turtles and the elusive dugong (sea cow).
• Shaab Samadai (Dolphin House), a horseshoe reef where spinner dolphins are often seen.

For the perfect contrast to the Red Sea, the stay pairs beautifully with a Nile cruise aboard Classic Holidays’ own ships. Combine your beach days with the temples and tombs of the Nile Valley aboard the MS Royal Princess or the Classic Blue Shadow IV.

Dining at Jaz Elite Maraya centres on a generous main buffet restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with international dishes, live cooking stations and themed evenings. Cakes, pastries, ice cream and snacks are offered through the day as part of the All Inclusive arrangement, alongside a selection of soft drinks and locally sourced alcoholic beverages.

Beyond the main restaurant, the resort offers:

• A la carte and speciality dining venues for a more intimate evening (available to book; a la carte meals may be subject to reservation or a supplement, and are not necessarily part of the standard board).
• A selection of bars, including a pool bar, a swim-up bar and a beach bar, plus a lobby or lounge bar.
