JAZ Grand Marsa lies on the coastal road between El Quseir and Marsa Alam (around the KM 65 marker), right on the Red Sea in the wider Marsa Alam region of Egypt’s Southern Red Sea. Its great advantage is how close it sits to the airport, so transfers are short and stress-free.

• Marsa Alam International Airport (RMF) is only around 6 km away, roughly a 10 minute transfer
• The resort sits along the El Quseir to Marsa Alam coast, a quiet, scenic stretch well away from the busier northern resorts

The real draw of this coast is what lies beneath the surface. Marsa Alam is one of the Red Sea’s finest diving and snorkelling destinations, and the resort’s own house reef is a rewarding starting point right on the doorstep. Further afield, the region is famous for several standout sites.

Notable dive and snorkel sites in the area:

• Elphinstone Reef, a dramatic offshore wall known for drift dives and pelagic life, suited to experienced divers
• Abu Dabbab, a sheltered bay renowned for green turtles and the rare, gentle dugong
• Sha’ab Samadai, often called Dolphin House, a protected lagoon where spinner dolphins are frequently seen

Trips to these sites can be arranged locally through the dive centre.
