No payment now, just the details we need to build your quote.
Pickalbatros The Palace Port Ghalib is an elegant five-star resort set on the shores of the Red Sea in the marina town of Port Ghalib, a short drive south of Marsa Alam. Arabian-inspired architecture, palm-shaded gardens and turquoise lagoon pools give the resort a calm, unhurried feel, while a private beach and a thriving house reef put the warm Red Sea right on your doorstep.
Formerly known as the InterContinental The Palace Port Ghalib, the resort now sits within the Pickalbatros collection and is sold on an All Inclusive basis, so meals, snacks and a selection of drinks are taken care of throughout your stay. Spacious rooms and suites, several restaurants and bars, a tranquil spa and a generous spread of pools mean there is space to be as active or as restful as you please.
With Marsa Alam International Airport only a few minutes away, this is one of the easiest Red Sea bases to reach, leaving more of your holiday for sun, sea and the superb diving and snorkelling this stretch of coast is famous for.
Accommodation is generously sized and comfortably furnished, with a private balcony or terrace in most categories and views over the gardens, pools, the marina or the Red Sea. All rooms come with air conditioning, a safe, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and Wi-Fi.
Room categories, sizes and availability can vary by season, so we are happy to confirm the exact options for your chosen dates.
The resort is arranged around a series of swimming pools, including expansive lagoon-style pools and a heated pool for cooler months, all framed by sun terraces and landscaped gardens. A private sandy beach of around 300 metres fronts the Red Sea, with sun loungers, parasols and easy access to the water.
The spa offers a calm retreat with a range of treatments and massages, a sauna and a beauty salon. Spa treatments and wellness services are available to book and are charged separately from the board basis. A fitness centre is on hand for those who like to keep active.
A dive and watersports centre is available at the resort and within Port Ghalib, with diving, snorkelling and a range of water activities on offer. These are arranged locally and are payable in resort rather than included in the board basis. The resort’s own house reef makes it easy to snorkel straight from the beach.
Pickalbatros The Palace Port Ghalib sits within the marina resort town of Port Ghalib, on the Red Sea coast just south of Marsa Alam. It is one of the most convenient bases in the region, lying only around two kilometres, a few minutes by road, from Marsa Alam International Airport (RMF), so transfers are short and easy.
Port Ghalib itself is a pleasant waterfront development of marina, promenade, shops and cafes, while the wider Marsa Alam coastline, including bays such as Coraya Bay, is renowned for some of the healthiest reefs in Egypt.
The area is a magnet for divers and snorkellers. The resort’s house reef can be enjoyed straight from the beach, while nearby highlights include the dramatic drop-offs of Elphinstone Reef, the seagrass bay at Abu Dabbab known for green turtles and the chance of dugongs, and Samadai Reef, the famous Dolphin House, where wild dolphins are often seen. The reefs around Port Ghalib and Coraya Bay are colourful and teeming with marine life.
For a wonderful contrast to the coast, a Red Sea stay pairs beautifully with a Nile cruise aboard Classic Holidays’ own ships. Sail between the great temples of Luxor and Aswan on the MS Royal Princess or the Classic Blue Shadow IV for a holiday that combines ancient Egypt with the warm waters of the Red Sea.
Dining centres on the main buffet restaurant, where international and Egyptian dishes are served at breakfast, lunch and dinner, with live cooking stations and themed evenings adding variety through the week. Casual snacks and drinks are also available at poolside and beach venues during the day.
Alongside the buffet, the resort offers a number of speciality restaurants, including Italian and oriental options, which are served a la carte. These a la carte and speciality venues may carry a supplement or require advance booking, and are not necessarily included in the All Inclusive board, so we recommend checking the details when you book.
A selection of local-brand drinks is typically included on the All Inclusive board, while premium and imported brands, speciality coffees and fresh juices may be charged separately.
